Traditional Japanese Kite making workshops were held in Kaimakli, Nicosia. (July 4-8, 2022)

On July 8, Ambassador Seki met a Traditional Japanese Kite master from Shirane, Niigata (Japan) Mr. Michiyoshi Yamamiya and a Japanese Artist/Architect of OBI Collective Ms. Tomomi Honma. They were invited to Cyprus for “Let’s Go Kaimakli” events held in Kaimakli, Nicosia. After the workshops, both the traditional Japanese kites and the Cypriot Kites were flown together high in the sky in the space adjacent to the buffer zone.
The event was under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in Cyprus and consisted a part of the celebration of the 60 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Cyprus.
