Mr. Kentaro Sonoura, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan on National Security visited Cyprus on April 12 Friday.
He had a meeting with Foreign Minister Mr. Nikos Christodoulides and with Mr. Kyriacos Kouros, Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President, discussed the ways to strengthen the bilateral relations following the opening of the Embassy of Japan in Nicosia last year and exchanged views on the regional issues of Europe, Middle East and Asia.
He also had a meeting with Ms. Elizabeth Spehar, Special Representative and Head of UNFICYP to talk about the role of UNFICYP for stabilizing the situation in Cyprus and the cooperation through the UN Peace Keeping Operations.
