Courtesy visit of Ambassador Iwasaki to Mayor of Larnaca

On 20 April 2026, Ambassador Satoshi Iwasaki paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Vyras. The Mayor expressed gratitude for the continuous friendship between the Embassy of Japan and the Larnaca Municipality and his willingness to cooperate with a Japanese institute regarding the 2030 European Capital of Culture in Cyprus.
They also exchanged views on the possibility of establishing sister city relationships between municipalities in Japan and Cyprus.
